$500,000 settlement on the table for James Square families

SPECTRUM NEWS STAFF – A six-figure settlement is on the table in a class action lawsuit against the former James Square Nursing facility in Syracuse.

Current and former residents filed the suit over concerns about living conditions and safety at the facility, dating back six years.

According to court paperwork, the two sides reached a $500,000 settlement which will need to be approved in court Wednesday.

James Square was sold to new ownership last year and renamed Bishop Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.

But a judge determined that the new owners could be included in this class action suit.
