Are Pfizer, Bayer, and Johnson & Johnson, the makers of Advil, Aspirin, and Tylenol respectively, misleadingly inducing consumers to throw away medicines by an expiration date, despite the fact that the manufacturers know the products are good long after the dates printed on the products’ packaging?
A lawsuit filed in St. Louis, Missouri, alleges that Pfizer, Bayer, and Johnson & Johnson use “unconscionable, unfair, deceptive, unethical and illegal” methods to convince consumers that their drugs are useless after the expiration dates thereby inducing consumers to purchase replacement medications for those they have thrown out.
