Your Credit Card Information May Have Been Stolen If You Used Delta Airlines’ Website

Delta recently disclosed to customers that a cyber-security breach may have exposed customers’ credit card information to hackers.  The breach may have affected any customers who entered credit card information on delta.com between September 26 and October 12, 2017.  Customers’ names, addresses, credit or debit card numbers, CVV numbers, and card expiration dates may have been exposed.  It does not appear that the breach impacted customers who only used the Fly Delta app or the delta.com mobile site.

Delta’s customers trust the airline to keep their sensitive, personal information safe and confidential, particularly their credit card information.  Unfortunately, it appears that Delta failed in this duty, and may have allowed customers’ personal and credit card information to fall into the hands of criminals.

Any potential data breach should be taken very seriously.  If your personal information has been exposed, you may be at risk of fraud or identity theft.  Victims potentially face serious disruptions in their everyday lives, including harm to their credit scores, complicated legal issues, and the significant costs of credit monitoring and other suddenly necessary protections.

Disclosure of personal information is unlawful, and the attorneys at Finkelstein, Blankinship, Frei-Pearson & Garber, LLP have successfully brought many lawsuits on behalf of data breach victims.  If you or someone you know may have been a victim of Delta Airlines data breach, please contact us immediately to discuss your legal options.
