Ford has announced a recall of approximately 112,225 vehicles that may increase the risk of injury. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced that some 2014-2016 Transit Connect models have front door latch pawl spring tab design that is susceptible to cracking and failure over time. A door latch with a fractured pawl spring tab typically results in a “door will not close” condition. If the customer is able to latch the door after repeated attempts to shut the door, there is potential the door may unlatch while driving, heightening the safety risk for drivers.
