Manufacturer Recalls Little Remedies® Honey Cough Syrup Due to Contamination That Could Result In Death

Medtech Products Inc. is voluntarily recalling five lots of Little Remedies® Honey Cough Syrup due to the presence of Bacillus cereus, which is bacteria. Consuming products with Bacillus cereus can cause serious health issues. The bacteria can cause stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and even death.

Although there are no reported adverse effects, consumers are warned to stop using the product immediately and seek medical attention if they have experienced any side effects related to the product. The company will also reimburse consumers who have purchased any of the recalled lots.

The cough syrup being recalled has item UPC: 7-56184-10737-9, lot and expiration are as follows:

  • 0039 (11/2025)
  • 0545 (01/2026)
  • 0640 (02/2026)
  • 0450 (05/2026)
  • 1198 (12/2026)
