Are you a current or former client of the law firm Jones Day? If so, your personal and confidential information may have been compromised and stolen.
The law firm Jones Day recently announced that an undisclosed amount of confidential client information was stolen in a data breach at the California-based cloud computing provider Accellion last month. Jones Day is ranked as the tenth-largest provider of legal services in the United States with clients including half of the Fortune 500 companies like Google, JPMorgan Chase, Wal-Mart, Proctor and Gamble, McDonalds and the Donald Trump campaign.
This disclosure was realized when a hacking group posted what it alleges are documents stolen from the law firm on a webpage on the dark web. This practice of posting samples of stolen data on the internet has become a popular tactic used by cybercriminals as proof of the hack and to demand ransoms.
As a result of this data breach, your information may have been exposed and stolen by cybercriminals and may soon be, if not already, fraudulently used.
Attorneys at Finkelstein, Blankinship, Frei-Pearson & Garber, LLP have successfully recovered millions of dollars on behalf of data breach victims. We are currently investigating this matter, as well as other data breaches. If you or someone you know believe that your information may have been unlawfully accessed, please contact us to discuss your legal options.
