Chase and other banks have instituted “Quick Pay programs.” According to the commercials, customers can use these programs to instantaneously pay their bills with just the click of a button. This speed can be a great convenience and some consumers rely on the speed to make financial deadlines. However, some consumers have complained that Quick Pay isn’t always as quick as advertised. Consumers have reported waiting five days for “quick” transfers to go through.
These delays could cause people to incur late fees or bounce checks because the “quick” name may misleadingly cause people to rely on transfers that did not yet occur. If you experienced financial difficulty (i.e. late fee or bounced check) because payment sent via Quick Pay arrived later than you expected, your rights may have been violated.
