Have You Purchased Sunsafe Rx Pills to Protect Against Sunburn or UV Rays? You May Have Been a Victim of False Advertising

The United States Food and Drug Administration recently slapped Sunsafe Rx with a warning over the sale and marketing of these pills, which falsely claim to protect against UV rays and sunburn.  The FDA’s Commissioner warned that companies are “misleading consumers, and putting people at risk” with these sunscreen pills, and that “there’s no pill or capsule that can replace your sunscreen.”

The risks associated with UV exposure, including skin cancer, are serious health concerns.  Companies should not be allowed to exploit these risks to sell useless products, especially when doing so may trick consumers into not using more effective measures such as actual sunscreen.
