Hyundai has announced a recall of roughly 567,912 vehicles with the potential to cause fire in contact with tow hitch harnesses. Whether your vehicle has been equipped or purchased as an accessory through a Hyundai dealership, any water accretion on the tow hitch harness module printed circuit board (PCB) attached to your vehicle has the potential to spark an electrical short. This malfunction can result in fire placing you in harm’s way. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has published this recall and quoted that this impairment can occur even if the ignition is turned off.

The attorneys at Finkelstein, Blankinship, Frei-Pearson & Garber, LLP have successfully prosecuted numerous consumer protection actions. If you or someone you know owns one of these vehicles, please contact us immediately so we can discuss this matter with you.
