Hyundai has announced a recall of roughly 186,588 vehicles with the potential to cause injury to consumers. The trunk latch may become damaged, preventing the opening of the trunk from the inside. A person inside the trunk compartment may become trapped, increasing their risk of injury. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has published that these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 401, “Internal Trunk Release.” This recall poses a severe safety risk for users.
