Last month Pfizer recalled nearly one million packages of faulty birth control pills Lo/Ovral®-28 as well as its generic version, Norgestrel and Ethinyl Estradiol, due to inexact tablet counts or out of sequence tablets. The affected packets have expiration dates ranging between July 31, 2013, and March 31, 2014, and the lot numbers of the recalled pills can be located on the FDA’s website.
Now less than one month after the Pfizer recall, Glenmark Generics has recalled seven lots of Norgestimate and Ethinyl Estradiol tablets distributed to pharmacies between September 21 and December 30, 2011, because of a packaging error that landed the pills in the wrong order. The lot numbers of the recalled pills can be found on Glenmark’s website. Birth control pills are taken each day in the order they appear in the package.
However, because the recalled birth control pills appeared out of order or contain an inadequate number of pills, women who took the recalled birth control pills were left without adequate contraception and at risk for an unintended pregnancy.
If you took any of the recalled birth control pills and became pregnant with an unintended pregnancy, please contact us to discuss your legal rights.
