Do you get your water from the Merrimack Village District Water System in Vermont?

In March 2016, testing done on the drinking water from Saint Gobain Performance Plastic’s Merrimack facility revealed the presence of a toxic chemical known as perfluorooctanoic acid or PFOA.

Saint Gobain, a manufacturer of high performance plastics, including flexible tubing applications, seals, coated fabrics, polymer products and bearings, uses PFOA in its manufacturing process and may have contaminated Merrimack’s water.

PFOA has been linked to various health issues, including high cholesterol, ulcerative colitis , thyroid disease, cancer and pregnancy-induced hypertension. Not only is your health at risk for exposure to PFOA, your property may have also depreciated in value as a result.

If you live in Merrimack or a similar area, you may have a claim against Saint Gobain. In March 2016, FBFG filed a class action lawsuit against Saint Gobain and Honeywell International, Inc. for contaminating the municipal water supply in Hoosick Falls, New York, with the toxic chemical. Rare and aggressive forms of cancer and other diseases were noted in Hoosick Falls, leading concerned citizens to clamor for water testing. Property values in Hoosick Falls also plummeted allegedly as a result of the water contamination.
