Consumers Report That Customer Data Was Exposed on Kylie Cosmetics Website

Have you or someone you know recently purchased cosmetic products from Kylie Cosmetics? If so, your personal account information may have been exposed. On Monday, April 11, 2016, several Kylie Cosmetic customers logged onto Kyliecosmetics.com hoping to purchase the company’s highly sought after products.

Upon logging in, their excitement quickly turned into frustration and confusion. Several consumers reported that they were taken to another customer’s account which included someone else’s name, email address, phone number, personal address, and order history amongst other things. Once the page was refreshed, another customer’s personal information appeared on the screen. Customers expressed their concern and frustration regarding this incident over social media and several included screen shots of the website to verify their claims. While the number affected is currently unknown, a great number of consumers are potentially affected given this brand’s popularity.

This recent incident is one example of what can happen when a company fails to protect their customers’ sensitive personal information.
