An astounding 131,700 number of Chrysler vehicles equipped with 5.7L eTorque engines are being recalled by Chrysler for the potential to stall. The engines of 2021 Ram 1500 vehicles have the potential to shut down and lose power without warning. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced that “an engine stall can increase the risk of a crash”. Under certain conditions, over rich fuel can cause an engine to shut down in these vehicles. The powertrain control module of these vehicles has the ability to produce this incorrect fuel mixture.
