Roughly 149,028 General Motors vehicles have been recalled for potential to cause fire. Certain 2003-2023 Chevrolet Express Cutaway and GMC Savana Cutaway incomplete vehicles possess circuit systems for elective heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning. Unused systems are at risk when exposed. It is possible for this exposed electrical circuit to overheat and cause a fire. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has published information on this recall for consumers. In December of 2022, General Motors, LLC launched an investigation into reported fires involving these vehicles and thus recently determined that a recall was necessary. These errors are a hazard to consumers’ lives.

The attorneys at Finkelstein, Blankinship, Frei-Pearson & Garber, LLP have successfully prosecuted numerous consumer protection actions. If you or someone you know owns one of these vehicles, please contact us immediately so we can discuss this matter with you.
